Since 2017, Òscar is part of the teaching Faculty of Porto PianoFest. This festival, one of the main musical and cultural events all-year round in Porto, has in its faculty pianists Jean Saulnier (University of Montreal), José Ramón Méndez (Northwestern University, Chicago) and course directors Nuno Marques and Mariel Mayz (CUNY).
On his 7th year running, Òscar contribution will start by hosting for the first time a Pre-concert Talk / Dialogue with Jose Ramon Mendez before his recital on the 2nd of August. Join Dr Méndez and Òscar at 18:30hrs at the Reitoria of Porto University to find out more about the concert programme, learn from Dr Méndez’s insights, and enjoy getting to know our artist Faculty off-the-stage!
As ever, Òscar will also contribute with interpretation lessons, and his traditional Lecture-Conference, this time on Janacek’s dark and elusive cycle of piano miniatures, ‘In the Mists’.
