Pianist Marta Gulyàs and members of the Szigeti Quartet gave the Hungarian premiere of Òscar’s Three Nocturnes for piano trio in a concert at the Liszt Academy, on the 2nd of October, 2024. The concert was broadcast by Bartók Radio.

Òscar Colomina’s Nocturnes for Piano Trio, commissioned by the Linos Piano Trio in 2009, draw inspiration from Spanish and Latin American poetry, including works by Vicent Andrés Estellés and Pablo Neruda, blending music and literature in a way that highlights Colomina’s distinctive style. Praised by eminent Spanish composer and critic Tomás Marco for their emotional depth and structural rigor, Marco’s reviews emphasise Colomina’s “unconventional and highly personal vision” which sets his compositions apart in contemporary Spanish music.

During his visit, Òscar also gave a chamber music masterclass, working with Liszt Academy students.
