Active as a lecturer in international courses and masterclasses, Òscar has accumulated experience not only as an orchestral conductor working with young and professional ensembles, but also extensively as a Chamber Music teacher, coaching highly trained young musicians at The Yehudi Menuhin School and other European leading institutions, like the Liszt Academy and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. His multiple professional facets and experience have equipped him with broad perspectives on musical matters, and the way young and adult musicians work and think.

Faculty at Porto PianoFest:
Since 2017, Òscar offers individual coaching and group lectures and seminars on how to develop individual musical interpretations at Porto PianoFest. This festival, quickly establishing itself as a referent in Portugal, has in its faculty pianists Jean Saulnier (University of Montreal), José Ramón Méndez (Northwestern University, Chicago) and course directors Nuno Marques and Mariel Mayz (CUNY). Director of Music at The Yehudi Menuhin School (2017-2020):
Before becoming Director of Music, Òscar was part of the General Music Department of The Yehudi Menuhin School, London, for over a decade (2006-2017). There he taught harmony, analysis, aural training and conducted one of the orchestras, before becoming Director of Music in 2017. Since then, he oversaw the recruitment of music staff and pupils, was responsible for all the programming and music provision of the School, while also being Artistic Director of the Menuhin Hall. He also played a leading role in the School’s Chamber Music Programme and conducted the Yehudi Menuhin School Orchestra (Juan March Foundation, Gstaad Festival).

Professor of Orchestration at London’s Royal Academy of Music (2013-2020):
Òscar was part of the Composition Department of The Royal Academy of Music (London) as Professor of Orchestration, teaching modules in orchestration, developing his own postmodern aesthetics elective for undergraduates and developing a conducting module for postgraduate composers. He also conducted ensembles in workshops and public concerts.

The Royal Conservatoire of The Hague & Akoesticum Talent Programme (Netherlands):
Òscar has a long association with the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague-School for Young Talent and he has coached Chamber Music for their Summer Festival (2013) and guest conducted their Siemens Concert Series (2016). He is part of the faculty of the Akoesticum Chamber Music Talent Programme in Ede, Holland, alongside Jean-Bernard Pommier, Marcel Baudet, David Dolan, Maria Milstein, Jérôme Pernoo and Johannes Meissl.
Other activities:
Òscar also taught at both the Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music Junior Departments, contributing with general musicianship lessons, chamber music coaching and conducting ensembles/orchestras. He directed the Orchestral Summer Courses of the Catalan chamber orchestra Camerata XXI (2012-2017).
